Larry R. Glazerman completed medical degree at Jefferson Medical College, Philadelphia and residency in obstetrics and gynecology at Lehigh Valley Hospital, Allentown, PA.
In May 2010 he received an MBA in Healthcare Administration from DeSales University, in Center Valley, PA.

He is board-certified in obstetrics and gynecology, and also certified in laparoscopy and hysteroscopy by the Accreditation Council for Gynecologic Endoscopy.
His special expertise and interest is minimally invasive gynecologic surgery as well as family planning.

From 2008‐2012, he was faculty at the USF Morsani College of Medicine in Tampa, and was director of an AAGL sponsored Minimally Invasive GYN Surgery Fellowship at USF He is currently the medical director at Planned Parenthood of Delaware, and is clinical associate professor of Ob-Gyn at his alma mater, Jefferson Medical College.

He is a member of numerous professional societies, including the American College of Obstetrics and Gynecology, AAGL‐Advancing Miminally Invasive Gynecology Worldwide, and the International Society for Gynecologic Endoscopy, where he served on the board of directors from 2008‐2011.

Clinical Associate Professor, Obstetrics and Gynecology - SUNY-Stony Brook University School of Medicine, Stony Brook, NY

Dr. Ninia is the Director of the Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology at St. Charles Hospital in Port Jefferson , NY and a Clinical Associate Professor of OB/GYN at Stony Brook University School of Medicine.
He received his medical degree from Wayne State University School of Medicine and continued his post graduate training at Nassau County Medical Center. For over 20 years, he has maintained two separate private practices in both OB/GYN and Phlebology. He has lectured internationally on the topic of women's health and venous disease and has authored 3 text book chapters and over 25 articles in peer reviewed journals.

A Fellow of the American College of OB/GYN's, Surgeons and Phlebologists, he is board certified in OB/GYN as well as Phlebology and was instrumental in the creation of the nationally administered Phlebology board certification exam. He is certified by the American Registry for Diagnostic Medical Sonography as a Registered Vascular Technologist.

He has served as a member of the American College of Phlebology Board of Directors and the Phlebology Foundation Board. He has served on the Catholic Health Services of Long Island Board of Trustees and helped create initiatives to improve patient safety in Labor and Delivery. His efforts resulted in St. Charles hospital earning the Healthcare Association of New York State Pinnacle Award for quality and patient safety along with his earning the prestigious Theodore Roosevelt award given to those individuals who provide outstanding voluntary contributions and leadership at Long Island hospitals.

Learning Objectives:
As a result of these activities, participants should be able to:
  1. Describe the relative indications and advantages/disadvantages of various methods of emergency contraception
  2. Appreciate medical and surgical methods for treating abnormal bleeding
  3. develop an efficient, cost-effective algorithm for diagnosing primary and secondary amenorrhea
  4. appreciate the burden of HPV disease, and strategies for screening and prevention
  5. Understand the physiology of the menopause, and the current status of hormone and non-hormonal therapy.
  6. As the first lecture of the week, this sets the stage for review of scientific evidence in an objective manner
  7. Understand the myths and realities regarding contraceptive methods, including LARCs
  8. Develop an efficient method to evaluate and treat anemia in pregnancy
  9. Develop a cost-effective treatment plan for assessing PCOS and related conditions
  10. Utilize appropriate diagnostic approaches to evaluate and treat patients across the CVI spectrum
  11. Understanding fact vs. fiction in the clinical use of cord blood
  12. Understand basic immunology and pathophysiology, recognize signs and symptoms and appreciate complications of autoimmune disease
  13. Identify causes of vulvar symptoms of burning, irritation or pain
  14. Explain reasons for habitual abortion, how to evaluate patients and utilize new treatment strategies.
