A Board Certified Occupational/Environmental physician, Dr Wilkenfeld has trained Internal medicine and family practice physicians on aspects of occupational and environmental medicine. Dr. Wilkenfeld has acted as occupational medicine consultant to corporations, government agencies and other organizations in the United States and Europe.

He is past-president of the New York Occupational Medicine Association. He has lectured extensively in the field of occupational and environmental medicine and is the author of several articles and book chapters.

Following the attacks on World Trade Center (WTC) attack on 9/11, Dr. Wilkenfeld consulted for a number of government agencies, corporations and community groups on the environmental health impact of the disaster. In this role, he reviewed pre- and post-cleaning data and answered questions regarding potential health effects of contamination with WTC dust. He moderated and participated in community forums designed to answer the health questions of residents and workers. He has evaluated hundreds cases of illness related to the 9/11 disaster. Dr. Wilkenfeld also served on The Environmental Agency's Technical Advisory Task Force.

For his treatment of WTC responders and survivors, Dr. Wilkenfeld has been honored with the Gold Award for providing compassionate care as well as the Friend of The Feal Good Foundation Award in 2014. Dr. Wilkenfeld has been listed as a "best doctor" by Castle Conolly from 2011-2016, and by New York Magazine and Newsday.

Program Purpose / Objectives
This seminar is designed to provide the participant with an understanding of the role and value of screening in primary care and the importance of preventive therapy and risk reduction for adults. The course will also provide an overview of common diagnostic and management problems in adult primary care. Upon completion, participants should be able to identify who benefits from cardiovascular screening, and from primary and secondary prevention of heart disease; assess which cancer screens apply to all adults, and which to selected populations; discuss new tools that may become available to screen for risk of cancer; counsel patients to modify their behavior and activity to reduce the risk of illness and disability and describe specific preventive and screening methods for common conditions and syndromes. This seminar will be relevant to primary care practitioners of adult medicine.
Conference Sessions generally take place on days at sea (as itinerary allows), giving you plenty of time to enjoy your meals, evenings and ports of call with your companion, family and friends.
