Ports of Call

Budapest, Hungary - Home to several UNESCO World Heritage Sites, including the Buda Castle quarter in Castle Hill, and Heroes' Square, Budapest offers and unmatched combination of culture, tradition and even a secret labyrinth of caves and caverns under the city. Your city tour begins with a visit to the vibrant Great Market Hall brimming with vendors selling everything from food to souvenirs. The remainder of this tour takes you to both the Buda (hilly) and the Pest (flat) sides of the river (B)

Bratislava, Slovakia - Bratislava is the capital of Slovakia and the country's largest city. Bratislava is in southwestern Slovakia on both banks of the Danube River. Bratislava has a very pleasant medieval inner city with narrow, winding streets, a hill-top castle next to the river Danube, and many historic churches and buildings to visit. The old town is centered on two squares, Hlavne namestie (main square) and Hviezdoslavovo namestie (Hviezdoslav square, named after a famous Slovak poet).

Vienna, Austria - Vienna is a unique blend of the historic and the modern with a wealth of architecture and artistic and musical heritage. Many of the world's most important composers, including Beethoven and Mozart, have lived and performed behind Vienna's Baroque façades. In addition to this Baroque splendor, there are excellent examples of Art Nouveau architecture .

Linz - The ship arrives in Linz where you'll have several choices of excursions. You may opt for a full-day excursion to Salzburg where you will tour the historic center, Mirabell Gardens, Residenz Square, and the Old Market. En route to Salzburg, stop at Mondsee, home of the famed Basilica St. Michael and site of the wedding scene in the "Sound of Music". Alternatively, you can join a morning walking tour through the old city center of Linz and by the Mozart House, or go on a guided bike tour along the city's'Culture Mile' and the Danube. During the afternoon, you have three more excursion options. Choose a half-day excursion to Salzburg or take a scenic drive through the beautiful Austrian Lake District with a stop in St. Wolfgang. You can also choose to visit the charming mountain town, Cesky Krumlov, located just over the Czech-Austrian border (B,L,D).

Regensburg - Begin your cruise with a visit to Regensburg. This UNESCO site boasts architecture from many centuries, reflective of its varied history throughout the centuries. The stone bridge, built in 1135-1146, the Church of St James, and the Schloss of Thurn and Taxis are a few of the highlights of this beautiful city. In the afternoon join our excursion to the Weltenburg Abbey, which towers high above the Danube and can be seen from afar. The Benedictine abbey is the oldest monastery in Bavaria and always worth a visit. Back onboard this evening, experience a Bavarian evening with lively traditional music and a dinner of local specialities.

Passau - Passau is a town in Lower Bavaria, Germany. It is also known as the Dreiflüssestadt or "City of Three Rivers," because the Danube is joined at Passau by the Inn from the south and the Ilz from the north.

Our staff can assist you with all your travel arrangements.
