Cairo, Egypt - Day 1 - Arrive in the Land of the Pharaohs. Upon completion of immigration and customs formalities at Cairo International Airport, you will be met at the exit by our representative and escorted to your hotel.
Day 2 - Cairo, Egypt - Begin your day on a scenic drive to the Pyramids and
Sphinx of Giza, which has stood for the last 5,000 years. Complete your visit at Giza. After lunch, continue to the ancient city of Memphis, the first capital of United Upper and Lower Egypt, and then visit Sakkara, site of the Step Pyramid of Zoser. In the evening, see an optional sound and light show at the
Pyramids. (B, L)
Day 3 - Cairo - Aswan - This morning, you will be transferred to Cairo Airport for your flight to Aswan to begin your 4‐night Nile Cruise on board the Sonesta Moon Goddess. Upon arrival into Aswan, you will be met by
our representative and escorted to your Nile cruise for check‐in. After a leisurely lunch, enjoy the peace and tranquility of the felucca Nile sailing in Aswan and view of Agha Khan Mausoleum. Enjoy afternoon tea and a Nubian Folkloric show. Overnight in Aswan. (B, L, D)
Day 4 - Aswan - Edfu - After breakfast, start your tour with a visit to the Aswan High Dam, an engineering miracle that incorporates 16 times the amount of material used in building the Great Pyramid at Giza. Then, proceed to the impressive granite quarries and site of the Unfinished Obelisk. Ride a motorized boat to Philae Temple on the island of Agilika, an UNESCO heritage site. The whole site was dismantled and relocated to avoid the flooding. Cruise to Kom Ombo and visit the only temple in Egypt dedicated to two gods: the crocodile‐headed Sobek and falcon‐headed
Horus the Elder. Overnight in Edfu. (B, L, D)
Day 5 - Edfu - Luxor - After breakfast, continue on past irrigated fields and palm‐fringed villages to Edfu. Enjoy a horse ride from the ship to the beautifully preserved Temple of Horus, the Falcon God. Witness the reliefs
depicting the coronation of Horus, the Pharaoh. Enjoy afternoon tea and celebrate Egyptian‐style this evening at
a galabeya party. Overnight in Luxor. (B, L, D)
Day 6 - Luxor - After breakfast, visit the West Bank where 64 ancient Egyptian rulers lie buried in the Valley
of the Kings including the burial chamber of Tutankhamen. Archaeologist Howard Carter discovered his intact and
treasure‐filled tomb in 1922. Proceed to the spectacular Funerary Temple of Queen Hatshepsut, Egypt’s only female ruler. Stop for a photo at the Colossi of Memnon, impressive statues of Amenhotep III. Enjoy lunch onboard and then proceed to visit the colossal Temples of Karnak, Egypt’s finest ancient temple. Walk along the Avenue of Sphinx to see each legacy left by the various pharaohs, dating back over 3000 years. Continue to Luxor Temple, which once connected Karnak by a two‐kilometer long Avenue of Sphinx and see the original pair of Sphinx, the second in Paris. Overnight in Luxor. (B, L, D)
Day 7 - Luxor - Cairo - After breakfast you will begin disembarkation. You will be transferred to Luxor Airport for your flight back to Cairo. Upon arrival into Cairo, you will be met by our representative and transferred to your
hotel for overnight. (B)
Cairo, Egypt - Day 9 - Cairo, Egypt - USA-Transfer to Cairo International Airport for your departure flight. (B)
Day 8 - Cairo - Start your day with a guided tour of the Egyptian Museum of Antiquities which includes the world's largest collection of Pharaonic artifacts and the treasures of King Tutankhamen's tomb. Drive to Old Cairo, where early Judaism and Christianity flourished in Egypt. Visit the Ben Ezra Synagogue and Saint Sergius Church. After lunch, drive to the Citadel of Saladin and visit Mohamed Ali Alabaster Mosque. Enjoy a walking tour of the largest 13th century covered oriental market, Khan El Khalili Bazaar. (B, L)
