Program Purpose / Objectives

Objectives : This seminar will provide a working knowledge of common endocrinological problems. The course will reinforce physiology, pathophysiology, clinical manifestations, diagnosis and management of most major endocrine disorders. The current treatment for these disorders will be developed in sufficient detail to permit independent management or active participation in care with the endocrinologist.

Emphasis will be placed on clinical diagnosis and practical treatment with attention to evidence-based medicine. Upon completion, participants should be able to recognize the signs and symptoms of most endocrinopathies; educate their patients regarding the basic concepts and natural history of these diseases and participate with their patients and consulting endocrinologists in decisions regarding modern disease therapy and prevention.

This seminar will be relevant to family physicians, general internists, endocrinologists and others who manage patients with endocrinological disorders.

Conference Sessions generally take place on days at sea (as itinerary allows), giving you plenty of time to enjoy your meals, evenings and ports of call with your companion, family and friends.
IMPORTANT NOTE: All conferees, their families, and guests must book their cruise within the University at Sea® meeting group through University at Sea® at 800-926-3775 or by registering online. This ensures our company can provide conference services and complimentary social amenities to all meeting participants and their guests. Thank you for your cooperation.

Ports of Call

Orlando (Port Canaveral), Florida - As the home of Kennedy Space Center, Cape Canaveral is the launching point for all-out adventure in Central Florida. Its beaches offer a mix of family-friendly shores and secluded swaths of sand. And with Orlando’s theme park sprawl only an hour away, you can easily mingle with your favorite characters. Beyond the parks lie equally amusing gems packed with Old Florida character. Kayak past manatees in the Banana River Lagoon and zip line above alligators at Brevard Zoo. At Sea - Cruising - Cruising

Ocho Rios, Jamaica - With its lush tropical rainforests, pearly shores, and cascading waterfalls, it’s no wonder Ocho Rios boomed from a small fishing village into Jamaica’s cruise ship capital. But don’t worry, the port maintains its laidback vibe and sense of adventure. Cruise to Ocho Rios and climb to the top of the famous Dunn’s River Falls or go on an off-roading adventure in the jungle. Or go rafting on one of Ocho Rios’ famous rivers — there are 120 of them. Secluded and rich in natural beauty, it’s one of Jamaica’s true gems.

Labadee, Haiti - Beachside meets mountainside on the shores of Labadee — a Royal Caribbean private destination on Haiti’s northern coast. Here you’ll find pristine sands, coral reefs and jungle-covered hilltops nestling lagoon-like bays. There’s no shortage of places to relax and recharge across five stretches of beach. Or dial up the thrills on an active adventure like a half-mile-long zip line ride over the ocean. And fascinating culture, history and the natural beauty of Haiti’s spectacular coasts wait to be discovered around every corner. Escape to the Western Caribbean for a wilder way to experience paradise.
