Beijing (Tianjin), China - Tianjin's old city retains some of the architecture and flavors from its days as a foreign concession port. A gateway to Beijing, the fast-modernizing metropolis is also home to historic temples and forts and a famous antiques market.
Fukuoka, Japan - Fukuoka City is the main port of access from Korea into Japan by sea and is regarded by many as the cultural hub of Japan.

With some wonderful art and crafts museums to visit and some great food on offer it is worth using as a base point to explore the area.
Kyoto (Maizuru), Tokyo - Japan's past and traditions are well preserved in the former imperial capital. Your cultural exploration can include temples and shrines, elegant and peaceful gardens, palaces and museum. Bring an appetite to enjoy the city's famous cuisine.
Sakaiminato, Japan - The center of Japan's fishing industry, Sakaiminato is renowned for excellent seafood and is the home of manga-comic artist Shigeru Mizuki. From here you can also visit the castle town of Matsue and the important shrine of Izumo Taisha.
